Mondays are always Karaoke night at Fenian's and we have won the Jackson Free Press' Award for best Karaoke in Jackson for the last two years. Karaoke starts at 8p.m. and runs through at least 1a.m. It gets busy so to practice a song without a huge crowd, get here early for more song requests.

Tuesday is always Open Mic night. We have seven 20 minute sets starting at 9p.m. and ending around 12:20a.m. with 10 minutes between sets for break down and set up. It rarely takes that long to switch acts. If you would like to play the basic rules are as follows: Call in (601) 948-0055 or show up at exactly 4:30p.m. on the Tuesday that you wish to play and request a time slot. It is first come, first served and no advance bookings are accepted. You can only play what you can bring into the building in one trip (for example no 7 piece drum kits). We will supply you with a microphones, amplifier, speakers, cords; all you have to do is bring your instrument. It is performing or singing only, no spoken word on open mic although we do allow folks we know well enough to do a comedy routine from time to time, just keep it clean. If you are under 21, you must request an earlier set time and no one under 21 is allowed to be in the building after 11p.m. without their legal guardian. We usually start restricting entry to under 21's starting around 9:30p.m. but will make a small exception for a performer but still not to exceed 11p.m. No one under 18 is allowed in the building without an adult that will be responsible for them at any time. We do serve alcohol here folks and will do so responsibly. NO UNDERAGE DRINKING WILL BE TOLERATED EVER.

On Wednesday nights the music varies. I have booked acts that impressed me on an Open Mic Night to play on Wednesdays and if they really perform well and start to draw crowds, they can play on a Saturday night and if they get famous, they can play on a Friday night. :) Wednesdays are usually solo acts or duos, with some bands that are new to the music scene in Jackson thrown in every now and then for good measure. The genre varies from bluegrass, blues, rock, acoustic, classic rock, contemporary rock, alternative. Just anything that when I listen to it, I think that it would be a good fit for the pub on a Wednesday, one of our more laid back nights. The live entertainment always starts at 9p.m. on Wednesdays and is usually over by about Midnight.

Thursdays are always Irish night. Thursdays are family friendly in that the age restrictions on entry are not enforced until 11p.m. and the Irish bands start a little earlier than most nights by starting at about 8p.m. Several of our Irish dancing friends are under 21 and always put on a good performance. Thursday nights vary in that some nights are Irish Dancing nights where we set up a dance floor for the dancers and some Thursdays are Irish Folk nights with rich Irish humor thrown in for good measure and all great Irish music.

Fridays are a busy night. Be prepared to have a good time as we book our party bands on Friday night. The band will always start at 9p.m. and usually will end at around Midnight unless you throw some tips in their jar, then some of the bands will play later for you. The kitchen stays open until midnight on Fridays so you can eat later, if you wish.

Saturdays are another busy night at the pub and the music varies greatly. We will occasionally book an Irish band on a Saturday, particularly if they are a travelling band and they can't play on a Thursday. But most Saturdays, it's party time. You never know who I'll book to play on a Saturday night. The bands start at 9p.m. and play through to Midnight.

We're usually closed on Sundays but one Sunday per month we open the doors at 2p.m. for a good old fashioned Irish Ceili. A Ceili is an Irish Dance Session and most times, Irish musicians show up and play while the Jackson Irish Dancers and anybody else who wants to stop by can come on in and learn some new Irish dances or practice well known Irish dances. The entertainment is all free. Food and drinks are available and only on Ceili Sundays, the whole pub is smoke free.
